Bidding Farewell Across Mountains and Seas, Carrying Forward the Torch of Friendship —2026 Graduation Ceremony for Rwandan Students Holds in JUVT

On the afternoon of December 20, the 2026 Graduation Ceremony for Rwandan Students ofFuture of Africa-Vocational Education Cooperation Planwas held at Jinhua University of Vocational Technology. Vice President Chen Hairong attended and delivered a speech, while Emile Abayisenga, Principal of Musanze College at Rwanda Polytechnic, delivered a remote address. Representatives from relevant university departments and schools, faculty members, and all 2026 Rwandan graduates gathered on-site to witness this solemn and heartwarming graduation moment.

Vice President Chen Hairong presented graduation certificates to the 30 international students who had successfully completed their studies and delivered a speech. He first acknowledged the remarkable progress the students had made over the past year at  Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, particularly highlighting their outstanding achievements of winning 2 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals, as well as the Excellence Award in the finals at the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition. He encouraged the graduates to build upon their skills and become dedicated contributors to the revitalization of their hometowns and the service of their country, to pursue lifelong learning through diligence as seekers of knowledge, and to act as bridges of friendship and inheritors of people-to-people bonds. He expressed his hope that they would apply the expertise and values gained at Jinhua University of Vocational Technology to contribute to the development of their hometowns and to the friendship between China and Rwanda.

According to reports, since the launch of the Future of Africa-Vocational Education Cooperation Plan in 2021, the university, as one of the first pilot institutions in the country, has trained over 200 young technical professionals for Rwanda. The university has consistently used education as a bridge, integrating the practical wisdom of industry-education collaboration and the core philosophy of skill-based education throughout the entire cooperation process. From classroom teaching to skills competitions, and from cultural exchange to mutual understanding, this cross-ocean educational journey has not only strengthened the foundation of friendship and interaction between Chinese and Rwandan youth but has also injected enduring momentum into the synergistic development of vocational education in both countries. Moving forward, the university will continue to uphold the philosophy of openness and cooperation, further deepening its collaboration with Musanze College at Rwanda Polytechnic, ensuring that the tree of China-Africa friendship remains evergreen under the nourishment of education empowerment.
