“Technology Empowers the Future, Skill Empowers Future”: 5th China–New Zealand Culture Festival Opens at JUVT

On October 28, the 5th China–New Zealand Culture Festival of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, themed “Technology Empowers the Future, Skill Empowers Future,” grandly opened at the IT Smart Valley.

Participants included Warwick Pitts, President of Waikato Institute of Technology; Girish Nair, Director of the International Department; Mark Liu, Manager of Cross-border Education; and Nathan Dunbar, Project Manager; JUVT Vice President CHEN Hairong; heads of relevant departments; members of the leadership team of Waikato International College; and more than one hundred teacher and student representatives.

CHEN Hairong and Warwick Pitts jointly launched the opening ceremony. They presented “Study Tour Scholarships”

 to 20 students who performed outstandingly in the study program at Waikato Institute of Technology, and “IELTS Scholarships” to students who achieved excellent results in the IELTS examinations in the second semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, encouraging students to scale new heights in language learning and skills development.

According to reports, this year’s festival will run for one year and will successively feature six immersive English Corner sessions, cultural activities for international students, sharing sessions with alumni in New Zealand, study-abroad information sessions and other events, providing students with a diverse platform for immersively experiencing China–New Zealand culture and enhancing their global competence.
