In order to effectively help international students quickly integrate into their studies and life in China, the International Education College has recently actively collaborated with the Student Affairs Office, the Security Department, and relevant secondary colleges to meticulously plan and carry out a series of diverse orientation activities for new students.

Vice President Chen Hairong and relevant leaders of the International Education College attended the new student orientation meeting together. At the meeting, Vice President Chen extended a sincere welcome to the new students and put forward three expectations:First, delve deeply into their academic fields. Students are expected to master professional knowledge with a rigorous academic attitude and lay a solid foundation for their career development.Second, enhance language skills. By engaging in immersive learning, students should improve their proficiency in Chinese and develop an advantage in cross-cultural communication.Third, practice responsibility and commitment. Guided by the concept of Chinese Language + Professional Skills, students are encouraged to become outstanding composite talents with both linguistic and technical skills, and to serve as cultural ambassadors in international exchanges.

The head of International Education College conducted a special lecture on issues of concern to students, such as scholarship policies, academic record management, and dormitory management. Additionally, emphasis was placed on campus safety issues, including fire prevention, electrical safety, and traffic safety. The behavioral norms and requirements during their time at school were also clearly outlined.

Teachers from the School's Psychological Health Center conducted mental health assessments and group counseling activities for international students. The aim was to enhance their cross-cultural adaptation and self-regulation abilities, helping them better cope with the psychological challenges they might face in a foreign country.

In addition, the Security Department invited experts and police officers from the Jinhua Municipal Public Security Bureau's Exit-Entry Administration, Jiangnan Public Security Sub-bureau, and the Compulsory Isolation Detoxification Center to conduct special lectures on exit-entry laws and regulations, public security management, anti-drug education, and anti-fraud. These lectures aimed to popularize relevant laws and regulations among all international students, including accommodation registration, visa application procedures, traffic safety, and anti-fraud precautions

A student from Rwanda, Dusen said, This week's orientation education has given me a deeper understanding of China's laws and regulations, enhanced my awareness of safety and self-protection, and enabled me to adapt more quickly to my studies and life in Jinhua.

The orientation activities were rich in content and diverse in form, aiming to help international students quickly adapt to their study and life in China. Moving forward, the university will continue to provide comprehensive guidance and support for international students to ensure that their time in China is smooth, fulfilling, and meaningful.
