2025 Graduation Ceremony for Rwandan Students of the Future of Africa-Vocational Education Cooperation Plan Held in Jinhua

On January 8, 2025 Graduation Ceremony for Rwandan Students of the Future of Africa-Vocational Education Cooperation Plan was held in Jinhua University of Vocational Technology. Zhu Chonglie, Secretary of the CPC Jinhua Municipal Committee, and Augustin Buregeya, Charge d'Affaires a. i. of Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to China, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Wang Zhenhong,Party Secretary of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology delivered a speech. Emile Abayisenga, Principal of RP-Musanze College addressed via video.

Liang Kedong, President of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology and others guests were also present. Chen Hairong, Vice President of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, presided over the graduation ceremony.

Zhu Chonglie, on behalf of CPC Jinhua Municipal Committee and Jinhua Municipal People’s Government, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Rwandan students. He said that in recent years, Jinhua has always adhered to the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, and the principle of pursuing greater good and shared interests put forth by President Xi Jinping, and has deeply integrated into the Belt and Road Initiative, ranking the top among the cities in China in cooperation with Africa. Jinhua attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Rwanda and Musanze City has become our sister city at national level. Mutual visits have been conducted like a big family. Musanze International School of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology was selected as the first batch of Luban Workshop projects, with more than 5,000 Rwandan young people benefiting from educational cooperation. We enjoy increasingly close cooperation and a deep friendship. Jinhua always gives top priority to the training of talents in the cooperation with Rwanda, actively implements the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and earnestly implements the Future Africa - China-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Plan. Rwandan students have learned e-commerce, electrical automation and other vocational skills, and felt the trend of innovation, momentum of catch-up development, and atmosphere of cooperation with Africa. It is hoped that that Rwandan students can apply what they’ve learned, transform what they have learned and gained into excellent skills to adapt to the changes of the times and seizing development opportunities, and excels in their respective fields. They can join hands with Jinhua, actively embrace Jinhua, the forefront for cooperation with Africa and cross-border e-commerce, display their talents and realize their ambitions, and engage in win-win cooperation.They can enhance consensus, tell the story of Jinhua and the story of China with your personal experiences, and become practitioners in deepening traditional China-Africa friendship.

Augustin Buregeya expressed his heartfelt gratitude to China for its firm support for the development of education in Rwanda and thanked Jinhua for its great help to the Musanze College. He said that with the sincere cooperation between the Rwandan Ministry of Education and Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, batch after batch of Rwandan students have had the privilege to study at Jinhua University of Vocational Technology.The participation of the Musanze College has further broadened the scope of cooperation and deepened the connotation of cooperation. The Luban Workshop in Rwanda has carried out fruitful work in the cultivation of young students and the training of teaching staff, and has taken the partnership to a new level. The graduates this time are the first batch of students jointly cultivated by the Musanze College and Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, which is of milestone significance in the history of vocational education cooperation between the two countries. It is hoped that the students will use the knowledge and skills they have learned in Jinhua to make greater contributions to the development of Rwanda, and it is believed that everyone's hard work will eventually bear fruit.

At the graduation ceremony, representatives of the Rwandan students, Ange Natacha Umwali and Rene Byukusenge, said that their time studying in Jinhua was a valuable life experience. They not only learned professional knowledge and made career plans, but also established a deep friendship across the mountains and seas, which is of great significance and worthy of remembering for a lifetime. Everyone firmly believes that with what they have learned and their best efforts, they will surely be able to give back to society, their country and even the wider world.

Lou Weisong, a teacher representative, sent graduation wishes to the students. Zhang Liang, General Manager of Zhejiang Transfar Daily Chemical Co., Ltd., on behalf of the company's factory in Rwanda, extended job invitations to the students.

On site, graduation certificates were also awarded to the students and graduation souvenirs were presented. Jinhua University of Vocational Technology signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with 6 enterprises and launched announcement of international talent training bases.
