From September 22nd to 28th, 13 members of teachers and students from the Medical College at Jinhua University of Vocational Technology(JUVT), representing majors such as Nursing, Rehabilitation Therapy Technology, and Clinical Medicine, embarked on a 7-day research study trip to Hungkuang University in Taiwan.
Hungkuang University, founded in 1967 as the Private Hungkuang Nursing College, adheres to the educational philosophy of people-oriented, caring for life. It currently offers nursing programs at the diploma, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, making it one of the most comprehensive nursing institutions in Taiwan. This research study, themed The Path of Holistic Care - Essentials of Hospice and Elderly Nursing, combined theory and practice, leading faculty and students on an enriching journey of holistic care.
The research group participated in courses such as palliative care symptom relief case studies, chronic disease management and nursing applications for elderly patients, clinical respiratory care techniques and applications, and precise management of obstetric critical care. The professors' expert explanations and scenario demonstrations deepened the participants' understanding of holistic care and further enhanced their ability to apply comprehensive knowledge. Additionally, the group visited Hungkuang University's training bases and laboratories, experiencing advanced teaching equipment and experimental techniques firsthand.
During the visit, Fang Luyan, Deputy Director of the Medical Skills Training Center at Medical College of JUVT, delivered a special lecture titled Deepening the Integration of Industry and Education, Cultivating High-Quality Skilled Nursing Talent. She provided a detailed introduction to JUVT's nursing program and talent cultivation initiatives in the Medical College, which was unanimously recognized by the nursing faculty at Hungkuang University.
"During this research study trip, we not only learned advanced concepts and professional knowledge but also experienced the deep friendship between compatriots across the strait. We look forward to more such opportunities in the future.", said Ye Hui, a nursing teacher from the Medical College.
JUVT has long maintained close cooperation with Hungkuang University in Taiwan. In recent years, the two universities have exchanged faculty and student delegations multiple times for professional and cultural exchanges. Moving forward, JUVT will continue to deepen cooperation in nursing programs between the two institutions, promoting joint development in nursing education, scientific research, and practical training.
