2023 Forum on China-Africa Vocational Education Held in Jinhua, Zhejiang

On November 8, the 2023 Forum on China-Africa Vocational Education was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the parallel forums of the 2023 China (Zhejiang) Forum on China-Africa Economic and Trade Relations & China-Africa Cultural Cooperation and Exchange Month approved by the State Council. With the theme of High-quality Development of Vocational Education and China-Africa Capacity Cooperation,it was hosted by the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province and Jinhua Municipal People's Government, and jointly undertaken by Jinhua Polytechnic, Rwanda Polytechnic, and the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University. The forum was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both online and offline methods.

The conference was attended by Virgile RWANYAGATARE, Education Counselor, Embassy of Rwanda in China, Sylvie MUCYO, Vice-Chancellor Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy President of the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University, of Rwanda Polytechnic, Emile ABAYISENGA, Principal of IPRC Musanze, Wang Jiaxin, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, An Yan, Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange, LU Hao, General Reform Office, Department of Vocational and Adult Education, Ministry of Education of P.R. China, Chen Feng, Deputy Director General of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province; Ruan Ganghui, Vice Mayor of Jinhua Municipal People's Government, LIANG Kedong, President of Jinhua Polytechnic, WANG Heng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy President of the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University, and leading officials of relevant government departments at home and abroad, experts in Luban Workshop construction and Chinese + vocational skills education, scholars in African studies, as well as representatives of member units such as China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium, Luban Workshop Construction Alliance, China-Africa Economic and Trade Federation of Education Cooperation, and other colleges, universities, industries, and enterprises. More than 150 people attended offline, and more than 331,600 people participated online.
